Exploring the Benefits of Sensory Play

I’ve been looking into ways to incorporate sensory play into my sessions more effectively. Recently, I used a simple water play activity with different textured sponges, and it was amazing to see how engaged the kids were. I’m curious to hear what kinds of sensory activities others have found successful and any tips for integrating these into therapy routines.

I’ve had great luck with sensory bins filled with rice and small toys — it’s like a treasure hunt but without the pirates! Just a heads-up though, it can get a little messy, so be ready with a vacuum — what kind of textures or materials do the kids respond to best in your sessions?
