How Play Impacts Development

Play is such an essential part of childhood, and as an occupational therapist, I’ve seen firsthand how it contributes to various areas of development… Engaging in play not only supports fine and gross motor skills but also enhances social interaction and emotional well-being. I’m curious to hear how other families incorporate play into their daily routines and any challenges you’ve faced along the way.

Totally agree that play is crucial for development. In our family, we’ve found that setting aside a regular ‘play time’ each day, even just 15 minutes, really helps everyone to unwind and engage. It’s amazing to see how much it improves our kids’ mood and creativity.
