The role of creativity in recovery

It’s fascinating how creative activities, like painting or music, can significantly enhance emotional resilience during therapy. I recently read about a study showing that engaging in these activities can improve mood and reduce stress levels — definitely something I try to incorporate with my clients whenever possible. Have any of you seen similar benefits in your practice?

Absolutely! I’ve seen how a simple art session can uplift clients’ moods… Do you think the medium matters, like painting vs. music?

It’s so true how creative activities can really shift the atmosphere in a session! I’ve noticed that sometimes just switching up the medium, like using watercolor instead of acrylics, can spark a whole new level of engagement in clients… Have you tried adding movement-based activities alongside art, @clara_m89?
