I had a patient who described their therapy sessions as an episode of a sitcom — some days were seriously tough, but we always ended up laughing about the awkward moments. It’s amazing how humor can lighten the weight of recovery, don’t you think? I’d love to hear some of your funny moments in therapy.
It’s wild how therapy can feel like a scene from a sitcom, isn’t it; i had a patient who once said their leg was like a ‘bad actor’ because it just wouldn’t cooperate… Have you had any moments where your patients surprised you with their humor?
I totally get that! I had a patient who would crack jokes about their balance exercises, saying they felt like a tightrope walker in a circus. Humor really does make the tough days easier.
I love how laughter can transform even the toughest moments! I had a patient who always joked about their therapy being like dodgeball — dodging pain, but laughing through every hit. What’s a quirky moment you’ve experienced during a session, @mikeH1990?
