I’ve been exploring various ergonomic tools that can aid in hand rehabilitation for our patients. Recently, I found a set of customized therapy putty that adapts to different resistance levels, which has really helped in strengthening exercises. I’m curious if anyone has had success with similar tools or has recommendations on effective interventions.
I’ve had great results with Theraband products for varying resistance levels in hand rehab too. They really help with customizing strength exercises, especially when you need to adapt for different patients. Also, check out @OTNet for some innovative tools — I found a few great recommendations there recently.
But i’ve had some luck using grip strength trainers alongside therapy putty for hand rehab. They add a nice dimension for building strength, especially for those patients who may need a little extra motivation. Just be careful not to overdo it; sometimes less is more when it comes to resistance. What kind of feedback have you gotten from your patients using the putty?
I totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve been using those customized therapy putty sets too, and while they’re great for resistance variation, I’ve found adding a stress ball really helps with grip strength in between sessions. It’s simple but effective for keeping patients engaged. @amanda_lee95, have you tried incorporating anything like that?
